Tailor the text to the target ̶ the 6 Ts
Most translators out there are slaves to the source text. They follow, for example, the source’s grammar and sentence structure. It’s quick, it’s easy, and in most cases it’s “good enough”.
That is not how we understand our craft.
For us, every word is a choice, a decision. Just like that catchy marketing slogan you remember, just like the chorus of a chart-topper, or the title of your favorite movie. All words need to hit their mark and strike the most fitting emotional connection with the target audience.
We don’t ask “How does one translate these words?”, rather we ask “How does one recreate the same meaning with the same impact in the target language?”
We put as much attention and effort into the words we choose for our localization as you do when writing the original, that is the only way to do them truly justice.
Our Services
We are providing top-quality language and localization services of all kinds, be it translation/transcreation, proofreading, text reviews and copy editing services, linguistic quality assurance, TM and glossary work, localization project management, organization or supervision of localized audio recordings, or general language consultant services ̶ remote or on-site.
We are specialized in the transcreation of creative content, such as games, videos, marketing materials, slogans, banners, title cards, audio scripts, presentations, jokes, rhymes, pop-culture references, etc.
̶ anything where the source cannot be transported cleanly to the target market,
̶ anything facing restrictions in terms of space, timing, or lip-sync.
Our language focus is German for writing and reviewing services, and English to German for translation and transcreation. Of course, German to English might also be possible, depending on your project. We also collaborate with some outstanding colleagues for French, Spanish, and Russian, and may be able to support you in these regards as well.
